Being an Internet Entrepreneur is hard, especially when you don’t have the right tools.
Here are 8 tools I’ve been personally using to develop my online businesses. These tools have helped me increase my traffic, automate tasks, get more clients and much more. (note: some of the links below are affiliate links)

Aweber

Aweber is a must-have for every Internet entrepreneur out there. It’s an email marketing and auto responder software that allows you to capture the email address of your visitors.
If you run a website and think that using a software to get email addresses is useless, think twice!
This software is necessary if you want to:
  • Interact efficiently with your community to know exactly what they want so you can create products and services that really fulfill their need. If you have been using only Facebook and Twitter to figure out what your community wants and find it hard to get valuable results (or any results), here is the reason: People prefer interacting by email because they feel closer to you. As a result they are more likely to tell you what they need.
  • Promote your product or service.  Many studies have showed that email marketing is the best way to sell on the Internet. Internet Entrepreneurs get on average x3 more profit when they use emails.
  • Develop a real relationship with your community. Aweber is a great way for me to share content and get closer to my community. When people send me emails to share their story, I can answer them personally…. they see that there is a real human being behind the business, which is so important!
  • Automate your work. With Aweber you can pre-program emails and customize them with the name of your community members. The software will then take care of sending them automatically for you. This feature alone saves me tons of time every month.
Get Aweber here, you can sign up for just $1.

SumoMe

SumoMe offers you free tools to grow your website traffic.  You can share your content more easily, create pop-ups, opt-in boxes and much more.
Ever since I used SumoMe, the conversion rate on my website (visitors vs people who opt-in) doubled overnight. Get it right now, you won’t be disappointed!

Hootsuite

Hootsuite is a fantastic bot for social medias (Facebook , Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn mainly). With this service you can share automatically posts and tweets.
What I like to do is take 1 hour in my schedule to plan every tweet I am going to share during the week. That way I can write articles, send emails, develop partnerships…without worrying about being active on social medias because a computer does it for me.
Hootsuite is a service I love and it brings me 5,000 visitors/month on average. So if you’ve ever wondered how to get traffic to your website, this bot might be your answer.

DIY theme

DIY is a WordPress theme I personally use for The Becomer. It’s not really a tool but it has helped me make some important SEO improvements.
Before using this theme my organic traffic was OK, but after setting-up the DIY theme, I immediately saw a surge in the traffic coming from Google. My organic traffic almost doubled in a few days.
This is because the DIY theme is SEO optimized (explanations here).
Big names like Derek HalpernPat FlynnJenny BlakeKevinMD and more uses DIY theme so there must be a reason!

IFTTT

IFTTT is a cool little tool that allows you to create “recipes” with the phrase:
If This Then That
This free tool automates many tasks just by combining apps and/or websites.
Let me give you some examples of “recipes” that you can create with IFTTT so you can understand:
  • If I publish a new article on WordPress Then IFTTT automatically shares it on Facebook
  • If I tweet something Then Facebook automatically posts the Tweet on my Facebook timeline
  • If someone tags me on a Facebook photo Then IFTTT send automatically the photos to Skydrive
There are thousands of recipes that already exist and that you can use. You can create recipes with Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, IOS, Tumblr, Youtube, WordPress, Yammer, Yo, Evernote, Etsy, Dropbox, Ebay, Email and much more.
Here are my favorites ones:
  • If I send a text with #fb Then IFTTT posts it as a Facebook status
  • If I send a text and tag it #cargas Then IFTTT sends my gas spending to a Google Drive spreadsheet so I can keep an eye on the expenditures
  • If I tap a button on my Android watch Then IFTTT turns off lights (you will need an Android wear and Philips Hue to do that one)
  • If I send a text with #helpme Then IFTTT gives me a fake phone call. You can now escape any situation (quite handy sometime ;))
Now I want to hear from you. What tool do you prefer? As an Internet Entrepreneur, do you use other tools for your business? Let me know in the comments below! (I read an answer every comment)
